Rediscover Purpose, Values and Connection in the Wilderness
Trojan’s Trek is returning to New South Wales this August — and expressions of interest are now open for the 2025 program in Gundaroo, running from 6 to 12 August. Proudly funded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), this nationally acclaimed wilderness-based peer support intervention is available to eligible participants from across Australia.
Established in South Australia in 2009, Trojan’s Trek is a unique, vehicle-led, immersive experience that helps current and former members of the ADF and Emergency Services reorient their lives and rediscover purpose after service. Whether you’re transitioning to civilian life, returning to work, or simply looking for a reset, this program offers a personalised roadmap grounded in evidence-based approaches and lived experience.
Delivered by those who’ve served, the program addresses life direction, career, health, education, and identity — all in the context of remote Australian landscapes designed to challenge, uplift, and reconnect.
Who Can Apply?
Current or former members of the ADF, Police, Fire or Ambulance Services (full-time or part-time)
From any Australian state or territory
You do not need to be injured — the Trek is a “circuit breaker” for anyone seeking a meaningful shift
Previous participants may apply for support roles such as facilitator or admin
What to Expect:
Voluntary participation in a series of engaging, sometimes challenging activities
Reflection and discussion of topics relevant to life after service
A safe, respectful environment guided by peers who understand the journey

Submitting your EOI is the first step in the selection process. While it doesn’t guarantee placement, it signals your commitment to participating in this life-changing experience. Participants will be contacted by a member of the Trojan’s Trek team after selections are finalised.
