Progress Since the Royal Commission

Building on the foundation laid at the 12 Months On conference in 2025, the 2026 gathering moves to Canberra to place current evidence directly in front of national decision-makers.

The Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide delivered a clear mandate for systemic change. Two years later, meaningful reform depends on clear-eyed evaluation. This conference brings together leading minds across clinical care, academic research, public policy, and lived experience—not to offer simple answers, but to conduct a thorough review of where recommendations are taking root and where critical gaps remain.

Who Belongs in the Conversation

This forum brings together four essential perspectives to drive evidence-first evaluation. Veterans and families provide the essential benchmark for how reformed support systems and community programs perform in daily practice. Alongside them, clinicians and health practitioners share frontline clinical data, evaluate therapeutic protocols, and refine complex trauma treatments.

To complete the cross-sector review, policymakers and government leaders gather grounded field evidence and direct feedback to shape future funding and policy frameworks, while researchers and academics present peer-reviewed data, longitudinal studies, and evidence-based suicide prevention models.

Two years on, we measure policy against progress.
