Pro Patria Centre Welcomes Opportunity to Support Veteran Wellbeing Through Community Consultations

The Pro Patria Centre commends the Royal Commission for its thorough investigation into improving support pathways for veterans and their families. Among the many significant recommendations made, we particularly welcome Recommendation 87: the establishment of a new agency focused on veteran wellbeing.

This recommendation highlights the need for a dedicated body to address the unique challenges faced by veterans and their families, ensuring a more tailored, compassionate, and sustainable approach to their overall wellbeing. At Pro Patria Centre, we strongly believe that to deliver meaningful and lasting change, it is essential for veterans and their families to play a central role in shaping the purpose and operations of this new agency.

Pro Patria Centre is delighted to be able to assist and host the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) community consultations in the region on 9–10 May 2025. These consultations are a pivotal opportunity for veterans, their families, and community stakeholders to share their experiences, perspectives, and ideas to help define the agency’s priorities and ensure it effectively meets the needs of those it serves.

"Veteran wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at Pro Patria Centre," said Lyle Salmon, Chair of the Pro Patria Centre Ltd Board. "We are honored to support the DVA in this important initiative and encourage all veterans and their families to participate in these consultations. Your voices are vital in shaping a brighter future for all members of our veteran community."

Pro Patria Centre encourages members of the veteran community to join these consultations and make their voices heard. Together, we can contribute to the development of an agency that provides real, impactful support and strengthens the wellbeing of veterans and their loved ones.
