"Stronger We Stand" — Free Online Program for Veteran Families
The Pro Patria Centre is proud to support the launch of Stronger We Stand, a free online program created to support veteran families and carers facing suicide bereavement or supporting a loved one in suicidal distress.
The series begins Tuesday 29 April with its first session: "Suicide and Loss – Learning to Manage Risk". Sessions are live, trauma-informed, and led by a team of experienced peer workers and qualified mental health clinicians. They are designed to reach people wherever they are—especially those in rural and regional areas—delivering connection, tools, and real-world support into the safety of their own homes.
These conversations are bold. They don’t shy away from the hard stuff. And they’re informed by lived experience—making them meaningful, honest, and impactful.
The program includes:
A Foundational Series (3 x 90-min sessions) on suicide distress and bereavement
One-off 2-hour workshops on topics like stigma, advocacy, and PTSD
Parent-focused sessions
It’s free. It’s flexible. It’s real support, when and where it’s needed most.
Families and carers have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
