Pro Patria Centre’s Defence Shed Program to be Supported by the RSL NSW Veteran Support Fund
The Pro Patria Centre is pleased to share that its Defence Shed Program has been recognised as an approved initiative supported by the Veteran Support Fund (VSF) for the 2026 funding cycle.
A recent announcement by RSL NSW, confirmed the successful initiatives under Circular 77/25. After a thorough review by the District Presidents’ Council and the RSL NSW Board, the Defence Shed Program was selected as one of seven new initiatives to be included in the Fund for 2026.
Within the VSF framework, all donations received during the 2026 contribution period (1 January – 31 December 2026) will be allocated to approved initiatives, with funds becoming available for delivery in 2027. This support will allow Pro Patria to plan and implement education, training, and practical activity programs through Defence Shed Wagga, providing valuable assistance to veterans and their families in the Riverina region.
The Defence Shed Program offers hands-on, purpose-driven activities designed to promote wellbeing, skill development, social connection, and community reintegration. Being accepted into the VSF is a significant endorsement of the program’s value and impact, and it strengthens the program’s long-term sustainability.
Pro Patria extends its sincere thanks to RSL NSW, the District Presidents’ Council, and sub-Branches throughout New South Wales for their ongoing support of initiatives that directly benefit veterans and their families. Inclusion in the Veteran Support Fund highlights the increasing recognition of community-based, locally delivered programs that complement traditional services.
Further details about VSF initiatives will be released by RSL NSW in early 2026. Pro Patria looks forward to collaborating with RSL NSW, local sub-Branches, and community partners to maximise the impact of this opportunity and continue expanding meaningful support for veterans through Defence Shed Wagga.
