Pro Patria Centre Announcement of DVA Wellbeing Grant Success

We are delighted to announce that the Pro Patria Centre has been awarded funding in the latest round of the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) Wellbeing Grants Program.

This funding will support our innovative project, Grow, Nourish, Thrive: Building Resilience and Capacity, which is set to enhance the health, wellbeing, and resilience of veterans and their families. The Grow, Nourish, Thrive initiative is a holistic program that integrates therapeutic gardening, permaculture education, and community engagement to address the unique challenges faced by veterans. Participants will have the opportunity to gain practical skills and qualifications, such as the internationally recognised Permaculture Design Certificate and Educators Program, opening pathways to employment or volunteer opportunities. The program also fosters social connections and sustainable living practices, contributing to improved mental health and community integration.

This project aligns with the objectives of the DVA Wellbeing Grants Program by delivering sustainable benefits to veterans, enhancing health behaviours, and building capacity within the veteran community.

The program will be hosted at the Pro Patria Centre in Wagga Wagga, with flexible options for online participation.

We thank the DVA for their support and look forward to empowering our veteran community through this transformative initiative.

Keep an eye out for updates as we grow together!
