Expression of Interest - TAPS Australia Postvention Workshop (24–28 July 2025)
The TAPS Australia Postvention Workshop will be held from 24–28 July 2025 in Sydney. This residential, peer-led program is designed for Veteran families bereaved by suicide and will offer a unique opportunity to connect with others, build peer support skills, and help shape Australia’s national postvention strategy.
Delivered in partnership with DVA, TAPS International, Open Arms, Legacy, Invictus Australia, and the NSW Government, the program will focus on healing, trauma recovery, remembrance, and lived experience leadership.
Program Details:
• When: 24–28 July 2025
• Where: Sydney (NSW)
• Cost: Program, accommodation, and meals are provided. Participants cover their own travel to and from Sydney.
• Eligibility: Veteran family members bereaved by suicide (over 18 and at least two years post-loss)

We encourage applications from individuals reflecting the diversity of the Veteran family community. Eligible relationships include: parent, partner (including ex-partners), adult child, adult sibling, grandparent, aunt/uncle, and carer.
Participants will engage in:
• Peer mentorship training based on the TAPS model
• Trauma-informed education with lived experience facilitators
• Reflective remembrance and healing activities
• National peer network building
• Co-design of future postvention approaches
This is not a clinical program but a space for connection, healing, and leadership.
